02 August 2011 – Nokia has introduced a new Symbian phone to the market, the Nokia 500. The Nokia 500 has a dimension of 111.3 x 53.8 x 14.1mm and weighs 93g. This new device has a 3.2-inch nHD display with 640 x 360 widescreen resolution. It is powered by a 1GHz processor coupled with 256MB of RAM. It will be running on Symbian Anna. Despite running on 1GHz processor, we are able to notice some lagging occurs when the spokesperson of Nokia was trying to scroll Facebook feeds at 1:31 of the video.
For photos and videos, the Nokia 500 has a 5-megapixel rear camera with up to 4x digital zoom. Connectivity-wise, this device supports HSDPA 14.4Mbps, WiFi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth 2.1 and GPS. It has a 2GB internal memory and a microSD card slot which supports up to 32GB.
Interestingly, the Nokia 500 comes with three funky-colored battery covers to fashion up the phone. Currently, Nokia has plans to release the black variant of Nokia 500 first, then followed by the white version before the end of 2011. More colorful battery covers are also available soon, including purple, azure blue, pink, coral red, orange and dark silver
