VP to voice support for Siami's honesty

A public group formed to support Siami, a woman who was ostracized by her community after she alerted authorities to group cheating at her son's elementary school, says Vice President Boediono will speak at the declaration of their movement on Thursday.
“[Mr] Boediono will speak via a teleconference since he is currently in Yogyakarta,” group coordinator Mardiyah Chamim said as quoted by kompas.com.
The declaration is scheduled to commence at 10 a.m. Public figures including as Todung Mulya Lubis, Mahfud MD and Bambang Harimurti are also expected to attend the declaration.
Siami, the mother of a student at Gadel 2 Elementary School, Surabaya, found that the school had instructed her son to share answers with his friends in the national examinations that ended on May 12.
She initially approached the local education agency and mass media, only to face various protests from her neighbors and parents who objected to her honesty, and subsequently was forced to leave her home.
Siami is currently residing in her hometown of Gresik.
However, National Education Minister Muhammad Nuh still denies that group cheating took place at the school.
