Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides had the largest opening weekend of 2011 with an estimated $90.1m, surpassing Fast Five‘s $86m opening in late April. The film also hit $346 million worldwide as the international dollars poured in. The other big news in the top five was Bridesmaids dropping less than 20 percent to overtake Thor for second place.
